Ximing Zhong finished his bachelor’s degree at Northeastern University China. Master degree at Politecnico di Milano .Now He is Ph.D.Candidate, in Aalto University. He is the co-founder of Archiford Architecture Design Company (archiford.com). In 2022, he was a visiting researcher on exchange at SUTD University in Singapore. Meanwhile, he is a lecturer of an AI-assisted architectural design course in China at Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology (XUAT). He developed the Rhnio plugin Autocat in 2019. He focuses on deep learning to generate 3D prototypes of architectural spaces. The goal of his research is how to build a co-design framework for machines and architects to collaborate on early architectural space design. How to make machines learn the layout patterns of historical buildings and the decisions of human architects is his core motivation. Specifically, he investigates deep learning methods such as GAN, GNN, and ANN to learn architectural layout and urban layout. He is also currently exploring data-driven design approaches in 3D printing field.
